New England Review-Fall issue

The Fall issue of the New England Review, the one featuring my painting Ripples on the cover, is out. The publication is an international literary collection published quarterly by Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont. The cover has already been described as a remedy for SAD (Seasonal Anxiety Disorder), the annual malady of many people when they are faced with the decreased light levels during fall and winter. I’ve been told many times that my work is a good treatment for the blues.

In the Contributors’ Notes section of the publication is written, “MICHAEL MEWBORN’s paintings and serigraphs are included in various private and public collections in the United States and Canada. He has shown his work in solo exhibitions in museums in Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina, and in Columbus, Georgia. His work has been selected for invitational and juried group shows in New York; Washington, D.C.; Virginia; North Carolina; South Carolina; and Georgia; and he has produced corporate commissions for IBM and Westvaco. He presently maintains a studio in Riverviews Artspace, a converted shoe warehouse in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he lives. More of his work can be seen at www.michaelmewbornart.com.”

I am proud of the fact that the editor of this publication selected my work to feature on this cover. She actually found it by discovering my website as she was looking for appropriate work for their covers. There is a possibility that future issues will feature more of my work.
